The Pittsburgh Steelers did not practice on Monday but being as their next game is on Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts, the team is required to release an estimated participation injury report just the same.
Listed Monday on the team’s first injury report for Week 12 are wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot), running back DeAngelo Williams (knee), safety Jordan Dangerfield (groin), safety Shamarko Thomas (groin), tight end Xavier Grimble (quadricep) and wide receiver Sammie Coates (finger).
Heyward-Bey and Williams were both listed as being unable to practice Monday had the team conducted one. Dangerfield, Grimble and Thomas are all listed as likely to be have been limited while Coates would have practiced fully.
Heyward-Bey and Williams are both not expected to play Thursday night against the Colts. The former is still recovering from a foot injury that he suffered in Week 9 while the latter is still recovering from a minor knee procedure.
As for Dangerfield, Grimble and Thomas, they all missed Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns with their current injuries. While head coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t ready to rule any of those three players out for the game against the Colts during his Monday press conference, he did hint that all three must quickly show this week that they are healthy enough to play in that contest.
As for Coates, he’s expected to play again this week even those he’s been nursing two broken fingers that he suffered way back in Week 5. He’s been limited to playing mostly on special teams in the Steelers last two games.
The Steelers are expected to hold their first official practice of the week on Tuesday and another injury report will be issued when it has concluded.
