The Pittsburgh Steelers are now preparing to play the Cleveland Browns on Sunday and on Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin updated the overall health of the team during his weekly press conference.
Tomlin indicated that defensive end Cameron Heyward (pectoral) is being re-evaluated and his status is up in the air right now.
Running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) is “doing well” and “working his way back to us” after last week’s knee scope, according to Tomlin.
Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) was ruled out for the Browns game, according to Tomlin. Heyward-Bey was injured in the Week 9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Wide receiver Markus Wheaton (shoulder) doesn’t sound like he’ll be back soon as he’s having his shoulder looked at again as well. He’s only played in three games so far this season. Tomlin said Wheaton’s participation in practice this week be the guide.
Safety Shamarko Thomas (groin) injured his “other groin”, per Tomlin and is questionable this week. The Steelers other backup safety Jordan Dangerfield (groin), is still working his way back as well.
Tomlin said that linebacker Steven Johnson had ankle surgery and was placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured list
