Some more continued, though unofficial, news out of the Ben Roethlisberger camp.
Longtime beat writer Ed Bouchette at the Post Gazette just tweeted out that according to a source, Big Ben is looking likely to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers have been publicly noncommittal to Roethlisberger’s status, as you’d expect, with Mike Tomlin explainign Tuesday he’d be evaluated throughout the week. Roethlisberger said similar speaking to the media yesterday, indicating pain and swelling were the two key factors in determining if he will play.
If not, Landry Jones will fill-in once again, though it’s looking increasingly unlikely his services will be needed in this pivotal matchup against an AFC North foe.
Of course, Roethlisberger playing is different than Roethlisberger playing well. As Dave Bryan wrote about, the recent history isn’t very kind to #7.
