The Pittsburgh Steelers filled the open spot they had on their practice squad Wednesday morning by signing running back Karlos Williams, the brother of linebacker Vince Williams.
Karlos had reportedly worked out for the Steelers a short time ago and he had been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse this past July.
Karlos Williams, who was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills out of Florida State, played in 11 games last season and gained 517 yards on 93 carries and scored seven rushing touchdowns in addition to two receiving touchdowns.
Karlos Williams began training camp with the Bills on the their active/non-football illness list after he reported to minicamp in June out of shape. It was reported that his weight went as high as 261 pounds during the offseason. The running back attributed his weight gain to his pregnant fiancée’s food cravings.
The Bills had waived Karlos Williams prior to the start of the regular season.
