The Pittsburgh Steelers closed out the first quarter of their 2016 regular season with an impressive home win over the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday night but in the process they suffered a few more injuries in the process. On Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin held his weekly press conference and he updated the health of his team as they start preparing for their Week 5 game at Heinz Field against the New York Jets.
Tomlin said center/guard Cody Wallace (knee), cornerback Senquez Golson (foot) and wide receiver Eli Rogers (toe) have all been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Jets. Additionally, tackle Marcus Gilbert (foot) is highly questionable and tackle Ryan Harris (lower leg) is questionable due to the injuries they suffered against the Chiefs.
Practice participation this week will ultimately determine whether or not linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee), linebacker Anthony Chickillo (knee), linebacker Jarvis Jones (ankle), safety Robert Golden (hamstring), guard Ramon Foster (chest) and fullback Roosevelt Nix (back) can play against the Jets, according to Tomlin.
Tomlin also said that wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (shoulder) and safety Sean Davis (back) both should be able to play against the Jets.
