CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting the NFL is opting against issuing a fine to Ndamukong Suh for his potential leg kick of Ben Roethlisberger, which occurred late in Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Yesterday, Gerry Dulac reported the Steelers forwarded the video to the league and asked them to take a look. Today, we get our answer.
Suh appeared to kick his leg out going after Roethlisberger with 21 seconds remaining in the Dolphins’ 30-15 win Sunday. David DeCastro told Ray Fittipaldo Roethlisberger noticed the kick immedaiely after the play though there was no flag from officials.
This play was made all the more notable because of Suh’s history of dirty tactics. He’s been fined several times for kicks and stomps over the course of his career, ones that have even led to suspension.
One last time, we’ll post the play and let you be the judge. Personally, I would’ve liked to see a fine, though a suspension would’ve been unnecessary.
Roethlisberger told reporters after the game his right knee was “black and blue” though keep in mind it was his left knee that needed the surgery and is keeping him out for at least this Sunday’s matchup against the New England Patriots. Landry Jones will start in his place.
