Season 7, Episode 13 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Friday show, David Todd and I get right to discussing the Thursday night 2016 NFL regular season opener between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers and specifically about how the league’s concussion protocol relates to it. We talk about the future of the league as it relates to this talking point which is sure to dominate the national media this weekend.
The Pittsburgh Steelers released their first injury report on Thursday ahead of Monday night’s game against the Washington Redskins so David and I go over it thoroughly and speculate as to which players might sit out the contest.
The Steelers signed guard David DeCastro to a long term contract extension on Thursday so not only do David and I discuss that, but what it might mean for running back Le’Veon Bell next year when it comes to him possibly receiving the franchise tag. Are any more contract extensions coming between now and Monday night? David and I make sure to discuss that.
The Steelers upcoming game against the Redskins figures to be a good one and we preview it thoroughly by discussing both sides of the football for each team. We both agree that all eyes will be on the Steelers defense and the personnel they choose to utilize in their sub packages.
As usual, David and I make our picks against the spread for all of the Week 1 games and that culminates with our Steelers-Redskins score prediction.
We close out this show with over/under stat predictions and also let you know which team we think will win Super Bowl LI in Houston.
As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
