Maybe some housekeeping. Maybe something more. According to the Trib’s Mark Kaboly, the Steelers brought in a punter for a workout today.
As Kaboly writes/tweets, the identity of the punter is unknown. So is the reason. This could be the team simply updating their emergency list, as is often the case this season, or because something is up with Jordan Berry. We will, as he says, have to stay tuned.
The Steelers had Will Monday compete with Berry in camp but he quickly lost the job. Berry had an outstanding preseason in distance, hangtime, and more importantly, consistency, an area he struggled in last year. The team has been searching for their first consistent punter since Daniel Sepulevda.
The team did not have anyone else on the team during rookie minicamp or training camp.
We’ll update you on this post if/when any more information becomes available.
