It’s never a good sign to hear a player has suffered a “mid foot injury,” and it appears our worst fears have come true. According a tweet sent out by Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network, cornerback Senquez Golson has suffered a Lisfranc injury and will be out up to three months.
Golson was injured away from a play in yesterday’s practice and had to be carted off the field. According to those who saw it, the second-year corner was visibly upset, throwing his helmet down as he was removed from the field.
Golson’s 2016 training camp officially lasts three and-a-half practices and marks the first severe injury to the 53 man roster. He had been running as the first team slot corner. Yesterday, he was replaced by Sean Davis. It is unclear if the team will keep Davis in that role moving forward.
More information as we see it.
