Pittsburgh Steelers guard David DeCastro was selected to his first Pro Bowl several weeks ago and the former first round draft pick out of Stanford is currently in Hawaii preparing to play in the annual All-Star game.
On Wednesday, it was announced that DeCastro will play for Team Irvin this year after being selected by captains Devonta Freeman and Geno Atkins. Joining DeCastro on the Team Irvin offensive line will be Tyron Smith, Branden Albert, Andrew Whitworth, Travis Frederick, Alex Mack, Zack Martin, and Marshal Yanda.
DeCastro, who needs one his ankles cleaned up at some point during the offseason, will be the Steelers lone representative at the Pro Bowl this year as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown both needed to back out due to injuries. DeCastro and fellow Steelers guard Ramon Foster played every offensive snap in 2015 for the team.
The 2016 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 31, 2016 and televised live on ESPN at 7:00 PM ET from Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.
