While FedEx is unlikely to change their colors to black and gold this week, their weekly FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week awards for Week 13 of the 2015 NFL season were swept by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger beat out Cam Newton and Ryan Fitzpatrick for the weekly FedEx Air Award this week after completing 24 of 39 passes (61.5 percent) for 364 yards and four touchdowns for a 126.4 passer rating in the team’s Sunday night 45-10 victory against the Indianapolis Colts. This is the second time that Roethlisberger has won the weekly award as he also received the honor back in Week 10 after he came off the bench to beat the Cleveland Browns.
Running back DeAngelo Williams beat out Lamar Miller and LeSean McCoy for the weekly FedEx Ground Award after rushing for 134 yards on 26 carries Sunday night against the Colts. Like Roethlisberger, this is the second time that Williams has received the weekly honor from the package delivery giant as he also took home the award back in Week 9 after registering 225 yards from scrimmage in the team’s win over the Oakland Raiders.
FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players’ names to the American Red Cross.
