The Pittsburgh Steelers enter Week 9 of the 2015 NFL season coming off of two straight loses and they’ll now get ready to host the 4-3 Oakland Raiders Sunday at Heinz Field. The odds makers, as you would probably expect, have the home team favored in that game.
At the Westgate Superbook, The Steelers were initially installed as 5.5-point favorites over the visiting Raiders in Week 9 action, with the over/under being 48. However, since the open, the line has dropped to 4.5 as several bettors obviously believe that the Raiders will keep the game close, if not win it outright.
The Steelers will be starting veteran running back DeAngelo Williams on Sunday against the Raiders as starter Le’Veon Bell has now been lost for the remainder of the season due to a right MCL injury that he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
So far during his career, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is 1-4 in the games he’s played in against the Raiders. His lone win against them came in Week 10 of the 2010 season when the Steelers beat Oakland 35-3 at Heinz Field. In that game, Roethlisberger completed 18-of-29 pass attempts for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns.
With a win Sunday over the Raiders, the Steelers should climb back into the fifth or sixth spot in the AFC Wild Card race.
