The Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday injury report is now out ahead of the team’s Sunday home game against the Oakland Raiders and it includes some good news when it comes to two of their defensive players.
Practicing fully on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday were safety Will Allen (ankle) and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (knee). Allen has been out since Week 5 while Tuitt has missed the Steelers last two games with a knee sprain. If both are able to practice on Friday, they should be able to play Sunday against the Raiders.
Wide receiver Markus Wheaton (ankle) was limited on Thursday and that’s a step in the right direction for him being as he sat out Wednesday’s practice. However, tight end Matt Spaeth (knee) failed to practice for a second straight day on Thursday so we’ll have to see if he’s able to work in some capacity on Friday.
Safety Mike Mitchell (concussion) quarterback Mike Vick (hamstring), wide receiver Martavis Bryant (illness), cornerback William Gay (not injury related), linebacker James Harrison (not injury related) and tight end Heath Miller (not injury related) all practiced fully on Thursday. Bryant had missed Wednesday because of an illness.
As expected, linebacker Terence Garvin (knee) did not practice Thursday as he’s already been ruled out for Sunday with his knee injury.
