Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will practice on Wednesday. Well, sort of.
According to several Wednesday morning media reports on Twitter, Roethlisberger said he will take part in the team’s 7-on-7 period during Wednesday’s practice. He also said he’s currently taking it “one day at a time” and that that period of practice will probably include 12 to 15 plays on the script.
“Each day differs a little bit,” Roethlisberger said. “We’ll look at the script and decide how many of those I’ll take.”
As expected, Roethlisberger is moving right along in his recovery from the left MCL sprain that he suffered in Week 3. While it’s very doubtful that he’ll play Sunday at home against the Arizona Cardinals, perhaps he has a chance at returning the following Sunday for the road game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
At this point, this last thing Roethlisberger wants to do is to return too early. However, he has never missed more than three games in a row due to an injury and Sunday will mark his third straight game missed this season.
The Steelers first injury report of the week will be released later on Wednesday so I would expect Roethlisberger to be listed as a limited participant on it.
“Today is Wednesday. I am going to get some treatment, get a workout in, attack practice today and do some seven-on-seven stuff and we will take it one day at a time,” said Roethlisberger.
“It’s coming. I have been working hard, I am going to get some stuff done now. I am just taking it one day at a time.”
