If there’s any good news to come out of the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens it’s the fact that the team only suffered one injury.
During his post-game press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin said wide receiver Markus Wheaton suffered an ankle injury during the game but outside of that it was only bumps and bruises to be concerned about.
Wheaton, who only caught one pass for 18 yards against the Ravens, injured his left ankle early on in the game and it resulted in him playing just 18 offensive snaps. Rookie Sammie Coates received extra playing time as a result and registered his first NFL catch in the game.
Sitting out Thursday night with injuries were quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (knee), tight end Matt Spaeth (hand), cornerback Cortez Allen (knee), Daniel McCullers (knee) and linebacker Ryan Shazier (shoulder).
The Steelers injured players now have extra time to heal up as their Week 5 game against the San Diego Chargers is scheduled for next Monday night.
