Season 6, Episode 17 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this show, David Todd and I start off by talking about what Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had to say Tuesday about knowing the potential status of wide receiver Martavis Bryant for quite some time. David and I are surprised by what he had to say and we tell you why.
Being as the team knew dating back to the draft that Bryant could likely be suspended, we wonder if the they should’ve done a better job of finding an upgrade over Darrius Heyward-Bey during the offseason.
We move on to discuss the Monday trade for kicker Josh Scobee a little bit more now that we both have had time to digest it. This includes us throwing around a few stats related to the Jacksonville Jaguars former kicker.
The Steelers freed up some additional salary cap space on Tuesday by restructuring the contracts of wide receiver Antonio Brown, kicker Shaun Suisham and tight end Heath Miller. We pass those details along to you as well.
My latest 53 man roster prediction was posted Wednesday morning so we sort of discuss that in addition to several players who should be considered bubble boys heading into the preseason finale.
Should the Steelers be on the lookout for a return man during the final cuts? We discuss that and even name one player who might fit that role should he be released in the coming days.
We close the show out by going over the Steelers first round of cuts that took place on Monday.
