Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been named the AFC Player of the Week for Week 2 for his performance Sunday in the team’s 43-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers at Heinz Field.
This marks the 12th time during his career that Roethlisberger has won the weekly AFC award and the first time he’s won it since Week 9 of last season.
Sunday against the 49ers, Roethlisberger completed 21-of-27 passes for 369 yards with three touchdowns for a passer rating of 155.8. The quarterback was also incredibly accurate with the deep ball during the game as he was 5-of-6 for 239 yards and a touchdown on throws more than 30 yards downfield.
Roethlisberger’s 300-yard passing performance Sunday was his 39th such one during a regular season game. Additionally, his 369 yards passing in the game is now his 13th-best yardage output in a regular season game.
