The Pittsburgh Steelers have promoted rookie outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo to the 53 man roster and waived defensive end Cashaud Lyons, the team announced today.
Chickillo, a sixth round pick from Miami (FL), initially made the 53 man roster before being cut the following day. He spent the first three weeks on the practice squad. It’s unclear if he’ll dress for tomorrow’s game, however.
Chickillo played 138 plays on defense for the Steelers during the preseason. He registered 5 total tackles in those five games and did not record a sack.
Lyons was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was a rookie from Tusculum and could be reassigned to the practice squad after clearing waivers. He failed to dress in any of the Steelers first three games.
