Cutdown Day 2015: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday to all of you and thank God the preseason is now over. I really was expecting the Pittsburgh Steelers to have a competitive and deep exhibition roster this year, but that obviously wasn’t the case. The play in the second halves of the last two preseason games is incredibly tough to watch. That’s part of my job description, however, so I will grin and bear it six more times through the tape. It would be a little more enjoyable if we had the all-22 to watch, but that doesn’t start until next week.

The final roster cuts are now being made and quite honestly, there have been zero surprises so far. We’ll have to see how the final few names shake out and it might just carry over into Saturday.

Before we get started with the weekly five questions, please remember that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is having his weekly press conference on Saturday. As usual, we will recap all of the important stuff for you on the site shortly after he finishes talking.

Here we go with this week’s five questions and I hope you have time to answer each in the comments below.

Peace and love to all of you and please have a safe Labor Day weekend.

1 – How concerned are you about safety Shamarko Thomas on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being VERY concerned?

2 – It’s sounding like fullback Roosevelt Nix will make the initial 53 man roster this year and if so, he’ll serve as a poster child for Mike Tomlin for several years to come. With that said, will Nix stick on the roster all season? Part two: How many offensive snaps will he have in the first four weeks?

3 – The most overrated team in the AFC outside of the North division is the ___________________.

4 – How many points will the Steelers need to score in the opener to beat the New England Patriots?

5 – The Steelers made three trades this offseason and they acquired Brandon Boykin, Josh Scobee and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in exchange for Brad Wing. Which of the three deals surprised you the most and which one was the runner-up?
