Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a fantastic game Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers and because of that he’s been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award.
Roethlisberger completed 21 of 27 passes (77.8 percent) for 369 yards and three touchdowns for a 155.8 passer rating in the Steelers 43-18 win against the 49ers. Additionally, he was an amazing 5-of-6 for 239 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers on throws more than 30 yards downfield.
Roethlisberger is up against New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr for the weekly award. Brady threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns in the Patriots 40-32 victory against the Buffalo Bills while Carr threw for 351 yards and three touchdowns in the Raiders 37-33 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
