The Pittsburgh Steelers might very well have to make another roster move in the next several hours and if they do add another player, it might very well be a running back.
Saturday, running backs Josh Harris (shoulder) and Ross Scheuerman (Achilles) were both injured and as a result of that, the team was left with just three dressed running backs and two fullbacks as veteran DeAngelo Williams sat out the Saturday session as well.
Even though Le’Veon Bell was one of those running backs in pads Saturday, you’d have to think that head coach Mike Tomlin won’t want to wear him out during the next few practices if both Harris and Scheuerman wind up missing extended time.
Should Scheuerman’s Achilles injury be a long-term one, he would be a candidate to be waived injured to make room for another running back.
