It sounds like a few tempers were flaring Thursday during the Pittsburgh Steelers final OTA practice of the week as guard Ramon Foster and outside linebacker Shayon Green reportedly got into it
Foster, who has had his fair share of skirmishes with teammates during practices over the years, apparently threw a couple of uppercuts at Green during the action.
“Sometimes tempers flare,” Foster reportedly said after practice.
Foster had reportedly been held out of team drills on Wednesday, so it’s good to hear that he’s healthy enough to take exception to whatever it is that Green did.
As for Green, he’s a long shot to make the Steelers roster. He was signed as free agent several weeks ago after making an impression on head coach Mike Tomlin at the Miami pro-day.
Green had to overcome multiple ACL tears during his college career that ultimately resulted in him going undrafted last year. He is likely battling second-year player Howard Jones, rookie draft pick Anthony Chickillo and former CFL standout Shawn Lemon for one spot on the Steelers 53 man roster this year. It certainly sounds as if he’s literally fighting for a job.
