PFF 2015 Steelers Stat Projections: Roethlisberger Won’t Top 2014 Numbers

Pro Football Focus has now released their initial stat projections for the upcoming 2015 season and while they are sure to be adjusted some between now and the start of the regular season, for now, they’ll make for interesting discussions.

Today, we will start with the projections they have for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Name Comps Atts Comp % Yards TDs INT Sack
Ben Roethlisberger 384 592 64.9% 4570 27 13 43

For starters, PFF has Big Ben completing 24 less passes than he did in 2014 along with him having a completion percentage of 67.1. They predict he’ll throw for 382 yards less than he did last season while being sacked 10 more times. Additionally, they predict less touchdown passes and more interceptions.

While I can certainly see why many might think that Roethlisberger could have a tough time matching or exceeding last year’s numbers, there’s also good reasons to believe that he’ll do just that. The offense from last season remains in tact and is more experienced and that is definitely worth something.

Where do you weigh in on these numbers? Are they too high or too low? Add you projections in the comments for Roethlisberger.
