The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Penn State tight end Jesse James Saturday in the fifth-round of the 2015 NFL Draft and now that he has been selected, we can look ahead to what his four-year rookie contract might look like.
James’ deal should total out at nearly $2.462 million and include a signing bonus in the neighborhood of $181,700. That would make his 2015 cap charge around $480,400.
Like fourth-round draft pick, cornerback Doran Grant, It shouldn’t take the Steelers long to get James signed, sealed and delivered being as his first-year cap charge will barely move the salary cap needle.
As soon as he does sign and the deal is filed with the NFLPA, I’ll make sure to pass along all of the numbers to you along with the yearly cap charges.
