The Pittsburgh Steelers are really getting mileage out of their 1934 throwback uniforms and early reports are suggesting that we will see them again during the 2015 season.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Saturday afternoon that the striped bumble-bee jerseys will be worn at Heinz Field when the Steelers host the Oakland Raiders in Week 9.
Last season, the Steelers wore their 1934 throwbacks against the Indianapolis Colts. They won that game 51-34 thanks to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger throwing for a record 522 yards and six touchdowns.
The Steelers first wore the stripped throwbacks in 2012 during the team’s 80th season in professional football. That season they wore them twice, once versus the Washington Redskins and once versus the Baltimore Ravens. In 2013, the team also wore them against the Detroit Lions. So far they are 3-1 in the games they have worn them.
