Report: Steelers To Open As Favorites In Eight Games On 2015 Schedule

Almost immediately after the 2015 NFL schedule was released last week, the initial opening lines for Week 1 of the season followed and as expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers were listed as underdogs to the New England Patriots in the Thursday night regular-season opener. On Saturday, Covers.com gave us an exclusive first look at their lines for the first 16 weeks of the 2015 season, which will hit the boards Monday, and they reveal that the Steelers will be initially favored in all eight of their home games while underdogs in the seven listed road games.

In four of the Steelers 2015 road games against the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals they are listed as one-point underdogs. Their biggest road underdog spread, outside of the opener against the Patriots, is the Week 12 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, who will open up Monday as 5.5-point favorites.

The Steelers largest opening home game spread comes in Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders and that is followed by them being 7.5-point favorites over the visiting Cleveland Browns in Week 10.

As previously mentioned, the Steelers final six games of the 2015 season will come against teams who posted a combined record of 62-33-1 last season. Five of those six teams registered 10 or more wins last season as well.
