It’s been 18 years since the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected a cornerback in the first-round of an NFL Draft, but NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock is predicting that streak to end in 2015.
During his annual mock draft Wednesday night, Mayock has the Steelers selecting Connecticut cornerback Byron Jones with the 22nd overall selection in the first-round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Mayock has Jones as his third cornerback taken in his one and only mock draft of 2015 as only Michigan State’s Trae Waynes and Wake Forest product Kevin Johnson were the ones selected earlier.
As you will notice in the full listing of Mayock’s picks below, Washington cornerback Marcus Peters fell to the Baltimore Ravens at 26th overall. Additionally, Nebraska edge-rusher Randy Gregory fell all the way to the bottom of the first round to the New England Patriots while Missouri edge-rusher Shane Ray wasn’t selected at all by Mayock.
