In a little more than 24 hours we’ll know whether or not the Pittsburgh Steelers will play the New England Patriots in the annual Thursday night regular-season opener as it’s now being reported that the 2015 schedule will be released Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, there will be two-hour SportsCenter special on the NFL schedule release beginning at 8 p.m. ET and it will move over to ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET.
It’s long been speculated that the Patriots will open up the 2015 season at home against either the Steelers or the Philadelphia Eagles. Last week, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reported that he’s hearing from league siources that it will indeed be the Steelers.
Even Peter King of Sports Illustrated wrote Monday morning that he believes we’re destined for a Steelers-Patriots season-opener even though both teams will likely be without their starting running backs due to them being suspended.
We will pass along the Steelers full schedule as soon as it is known along with quite a bit of instant reaction and analysis.
