As expected, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is present for the LSU Pro Day that is taking place on Friday. Tomlin admitted recently that LSU is one of his regular stops ahead of the annual draft.

“I go where the players are and, obviously, you look at what [Michigan State] Coach (Mark) Dantonio has done over there over that time period, it’s obvious that there are players there,” Tomlin said. “I go to LSU every year, I go to Florida State just about every year. I’ve gone probably to eight out of the last 10 Ohio State pro days. I’m a pro day guy, so don’t read too much into that.”
While Tomlin should be able to visit with several top LSU draft prospects on Friday, he won’t be able to see cornerback Jalen Collins do anything on the field as the underclassmen underwent foot surgery last week and thus will not be able to participate. The 6-foot-1, 203 pound Collins should be healthy by the time minicamps roll around, however.
Tackle La’el Collins, defensive end Danielle Hunter, linebacker Kwon Alexander, running back Terrence Magee, linebacker Jermauria Rasco and fullback Conner Neighbors are just a few of the other LSU players that will be on display Friday.
Collins is expected to be drafted in the first round and should that wind up being the case, it will be the first time that an LSU offensive lineman has been drafted in the first round since the Steelers drafted guard Alan Fanaca in 1998.
Jalen Collins and Hunter reportedly had dinner with Tomlin Thursday night, according to Lyons Yellin of WWL-TV.
