Would the Pittsburgh Steelers really draft a wide receiver in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft? If Louisville wide receiver DeVante Parker is still on the board come time for the Steelers 22nd overall pick in the first round, I don’t think we can rule that out as a possibility.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was present at the Louisville Pro Day on Wednesday and according to Michael McCammon of Cardinal Authority, he had dinner with Parker Monday night.
As you can see in the video below from The Courier-Journal, Tomlin also made it point to visit with Parker’s parents on Wednesday.
Parker stood on his combine numbers Wednesday but did run routes and catch passes for all in attendance to see.
Parker missed the first seven games of the 2014 season with an injury but still managed to finish the year with 43 receptions, 855 receiving yards and five touchdowns in only six games played.
Tomlin also got a chance to see Louisville guard John Miller and defensive end/outside linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin up close and personal as well on Wednesday. Both certainly have to be on the Steelers big board.
