Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has once again been voted the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week after throwing for 360 yards in the Sunday 27-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
This makes the second week in a row that Roethlisberger has won the fan award and it’s the fourth time this season he’s been voted the winner.
Surprisingly, Roethlisberger beat out New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees this week. Brees completed 29 of 36 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in the 31-15 win over the Chicago Bears and he probably should have won the award.
The third player nominated this past week for the award was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, who threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns in the 31-13 win against the Oakland Raiders.
Every week FedEx makes a $2,000 donation in each of the winning players’ names to the American Red Cross.
