Earlier in the week, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs admitted that he had heard a “little something” from the league office regarding his controversial hit on Pittsburgh Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount Sunday night and now we know what that little something was.
According to several media reports Friday, Suggs has been fined $8,268 for his late hit on Blount that resulted in him being flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play. Since that game, both Suggs and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh have defended the hit and claimed it was legal.
Several Steelers players, however, went on record after the game as saying Suggs hit wasn’t legal and a few hinted that they weren’t surprised that the Ravens linebacker was the culprit.
Suggs is expected to appeal his fine. He really doesn’t have a leg to stand on, however, when you look at the replay. Thankfully, Blount still has two healthy legs to stand on as Suggs hit really could’ve ended his season.
