On the surface, it appears as though the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to get out of Jacksonville with not only a win, but very few injuries as well.
During his post game press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin only listed backup safety Shamarko Thomas when running down the injury report following the 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Shamarko Thomas had a hamstring and don’t know the nature of it,” said Tomlin. “We’ll evaluate him. Obviously, I’ll give you guys a proper update on Tuesday.”
Thomas left the game with his injured hamstring in the second quarter Sunday and did not return for the second half. The Steelers second-year safety injured himself while playing on special teams as he has yet to register a defensive snap so far this season through the fist five games.
