Oakland Raiders defensive end LaMarr Woodley missed practice Wednesday with a bicep injury, and head coach Tony Sparano said during his talk with the media that it “could be serious,” CSN Bay Area reports.
Woodley, who signed a two-year, $10.35 million contract with the Raiders during the offseason after he was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers, has yet to record a sack this season. He’s also only registered five total tackles.
If Woodley’s injury ends his season, it will mean that the Steelers former second round draft pick will have missed a total of 24 games in the last four seasons.
Woodley is scheduled to earn a base salary in 2015 of $3.85 million. He is also due a $1.5 million roster bonus. Right now, you would have to bet that the Raiders won’t want to pay that and assuming he’s healthy come March, he might just be released.
Think Woodley would want to come back to Pittsburgh in 2015 for about $1 million or so? Discuss this amongst yourselves in the comments below.
