The Pittsburgh Steelers moved to 2-1 on the 2014 season with their 37-19 road win Sunday night over the Carolina Panthers, but the win may have cost them a few starters on defense for an extended amount of time.
During his post game press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that cornerback Ike Taylor suffered a broken right forearm in the third quarter.
Taylor will more than likely need surgery and that will likely result in him being placed on injured reserve. If he is placed on the season-ending list, his long career in Pittsburgh could be over as a result.
Also injured Sunday night were linebackers Ryan Shazier (knee) and Jarvis Jones (wrist). Tomlin did not reveal the severity of those two injuries and only said that both players would need to be further evaluated.
Shazier was seen after the game with a big ice pack wrapped around his knee.
