Steelers Place LB Jordan Zumwalt On Injured Reserve, Claim CB B.W. Webb Off Waivers

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a few transactions Friday evening as they have placed rookie linebacker Jordan Zumwalt on the Reserve/Injured List and claimed cornerback B.W. Webb off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys.

Zumwalt, the Steelers first of two sixth-round draft picks this year, battled a groin in jury all throughout training camp and the preseason.

Webb was drafted in the fourth-round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Cowboys out of William & Mary. He recently suffered a hip flexor injury that prevented him from playing in the final two preseason games. In 2013 as a rookie, Webb was active for 15 games and registered 13 tackles and one pass breakup in 185 snaps played.

Webb is primarily best suited to play in the slot and his addition could be a sign that Brice McCain might be out a while with a groin injury that he suffered Thursday night in the loss to the Carolina Panthers.

At the 2013 NFL Combine, Webb measured in at 5-10 and weighed 184 pounds. He ran a 4.46 40-yard dash and had a 40.5 inch vertical jump. The Steelers had Webb in for a visit prior to the 2013 draft.
