According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Pittsburgh Steelers gave running back LeGarrette Blount a two-year, $4 million contract on Friday.
While we still don’t know the full breakdown of the contract, it is being reported that Blount received a $950,000 signing bonus. In addition, Blount also has NLTBE incentive of $150,000 in 2014 that he can earn if he gains 800 or more rushing yards in 2014.
I’m just guessing, but if the Steelers gave Blount a $850,000 base salary in 2014, his cap charge this year would only be $1.325 million. That would leave a $2 million base salary in 2015 and perhaps a $50,000 roster bonus. That would total the deal out at $4 million.
