Pittsburgh Steelers unrestricted free agent safety Ryan Clark won’t be returning in 2014 and it appears as though the Washington Redskins aren’t very interested right now in having him back, either.
Clark, who reportedly recently had a free agent visit with the team he played with for two seasons before coming to Pittsburgh, posted an unoptimistic update of his situation Friday on Twitter.
Redskins fans only following me if I’m going to be a Redskin can unfollow me for now! Still treating me the way they always have. Never know
He updated his status a little while later.
I will always appreciate the Skins taking a chance on a 24 year old working at LSU. I will never forget what they did for me. Gratitude
Unless I am interpreting these wrong, it sounds like the Redskins told Clark, “Don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
Clark is 34 and his best years are far behind him at this point. If he does wind up signing somewhere, it will likely be a one-year deal for the minimum with no guarantee he starts.
