The 2013 season is now over for the Pittsburgh Steelers but it appears as though they will enter the offseason without any serious injuries to overcome.
“On the injury front, a few minor ones,” said head coach Mike Tomlin during his post game press conference. Jerricho Cotchery hurt his ribs. I don’t know the status of him in regards to potentially next week. Steve McLendon re-aggravated his ankle. We’ll evaluate both guys.”
The Steelers ended the season with 12 players on injured reserve and of the players that are currently under contract for 2014, center Maurkice Pouncey, linebacker Larry Foote, guard Nik Embernate and cornerback Curtis Brown are the only ones that might not be ready for OTAs.
Brown tore his left ACL in the Week 12 game against the Cleveland Browns, however, he wasn’t expected to have surgery until after the holidays.
Tomlin will have his final press conference of the year on Monday, but isn’t likely to share much in the way of information as it relates to injured players.
