Steelers Versus Titans Week 1 Projected Inactive List

With the Friday injury report now out for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and no Saturday roster moves expected, we can now look at the projected inactive list for the Sunday season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Heath Miller – Miller was removed from the Active PUP list last Saturday, but is still likely a few weeks away from playing. The good news this week was that he was listed as doubtful on the injury report instead of out. He will likely start ramping up his work in practice either next week or the week after.

Le’Veon Bell – Bell was ruled out for the game with his foot injury, but hopes to return next week. Being as he is a rookie, head coach Mike Tomlin will want him to practice at least a couple of days before he allows him to play.

Hebron Fangupo – Fangupo beat out Alameda Ta’amu for a roster spot, but he is still a good ways away from being able to contribute. The Steelers will use Al Woods as the backup defensive end and nose tackle to start the season, so baring injury you can expect to see Fangupo on this list for several weeks.

Landry Jones – The Steelers fourth-round quarterback likely won’t dress for many games this year as he is the third-string quarterback. There could be a rare instance or two where the Steelers have too many players listed as out that allows Jones to dress, but this game isn’t one of them.

Guy Whimper – The Steelers usually only dress seven offensive linemen and being as Cody Wallace is the backup center, that leaves Whimper as the one that will be inactive.

Derek Moye – Moye made the 53 man roster as a fifth wide receiver, but will likely be inactive for several games this year as the Steelers really only need to dress four. Moye is really not a big contributor on special teams, so that also hurts his chances to be active.

Terence Garvin –  This is a tough one because we do not know what the Steelers will decide to do with fullback Will Johnson, who is nursing a hamstring injury. Being as Johnson is listed as probable and not questionable, we will go ahead and guess that he will suit up. If he does, then Garvin will likely be the seventh inactive. If Johnson is not ready, he will of course we the seventh.
