While the hamstring injury suffered Sunday during pregame warm-ups by Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham is not expected to put him out for the season, Mike Garafalo of FOX Sports 1 reports via Twitter that it could keep him out a few weeks.
Following the Sunday season opening loss to the Tennessee Titans, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not elaborate about Suisham’s injury. Instead, he said “We’ll see what that holds.”
Garafalo thinks the Steelers might be interested in Shayne Graham as possible replacement for Suisham should he indeed wind up being sidelined.
Outside of Graham, the Steelers could decide to bring back Danny Hrapmann, who was with the team during the offseason and the start of training camp. Hrapmann, who has never kicked in a regular season game, is no stranger to the Steelers as he was also with the team last preseason as well.
Suisham is in year three of the four-year deal that he signed back in July of 2011 and hasn’t missed a game since being signed during the 2010 season.
