The Pittsburgh Steelers finished their 2013 preseason winless Thursday night as they lost to the Carolina Panthers 25-10. Head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the injury situation following the game during his post game press conference.
“The only injury is Will Johnson,” said Tomlin. “He had a hamstring of some description. He’s going to be evaluated.”
The good news is that only one player was injured, but the bad news is of course that the Steelers only true fullback was the one player. It’s too early to tell whether or not it will be a long-term injury, so all we can do at this point is keep our fingers crossed that he will be ready for the season opener one week from this coming Sunday.
Should Will Johnson wind up being sidelined, David Johnson would most likely be the next man up at fullback as he was battling for the job last preseason before suffering a serious knee injury that put him out for the entire season.
