It\’s probably a good thing that Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had the team back in shorts on Monday as several players remained sidelined with bumps and bruises and contused birth certificates.
According to Jim Wexell of Steel City Insider on Twitter, not practicing on Monday were Troy Polamalu (birth certificate), Curtis McNeal (unknown), Plaxico Burress (unknown), Ross Ventrone (unknown), Terry Hawthorne (knee), Jarvis Jones (unknown), DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring), Cortez Allen (knee), Steve McLendon (unknown) and Lawrence Timmons (personal).
The Steelers announced that Alameda Ta\’amu (hamstring) has been activated off the PUP list on Monday, so it appears as though his hamstring is good to go..
Tomlin said after practice that Matt Spaeth (knee), Nick Williams (knee) and Larry Foote (unknown) all returned to practice on Monday and that he expects several more to return by the time the team returns to the field on Wednesday.
The only new injury on Monday was to Curtis Brown, who suffered an ankle injury of some sorts. Brown was on crutches following practice, according to Wexell, so it appears as though he might be sidelined for a while.
