Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin met the media on Wednesday and he ran down the list of injured players.
Rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones was ruled out for the Thursday night preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers by Tomlin as he is still recovering from an AC chest sprain that he suffered Saturday night.
In addition to Jones, Tomlin also ruled out running backs Le’Veon Bell (foot) and Isaac Redman (stinger) for the game in addition to tight end Heath Miller (knee).
“Obviously we got a lot of backs that we need to sort through,” Tomlin said. “We know what he’s [Redman] capable of, so we’re going to look at some of those others, like [LaRod] Stephens-Howling, like Jonathan Dwyer and of course the newly-acquired Felix Jones.”
Kicker returner Reggie Dunn was forced to sit out Monday’s practice and Tomlin updated his status as well.
“He’s a possibility and if and how much we use him will be determined on how he looks out there really largely today and of course moving forward into Wednesday,” said Tomlin. “He’s nursing a minor injury to his shoulder, we’ll see how he looks out there and let that determine how we proceed.”
