The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their second training practice of the year and head coach Mike Tomlin talked to the media afterwards.
As far as injuries go, Tomlin said cornerback Cortez Allen (knee) had some discomfort in his right knee on Sunday and that fellow cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury very late in practice. As usual, Tomlin refused to speculate on how long either could be sidelined.
ETA: Jim Wexell of Steel City Insider reports via Twitter that Allen said after practice he\’ll be fine and that is injury will be a day-to-day thing.
As far as practice, Tomlin said it was another good day and that he liked the energy the guys showed. However, it is still football in shorts, he reminded us once again.
The Steelers will don the pads for the first time on Monday and Tomlin said that\’s like the first day of school in his eyes.
We will update all of the action from Sunday in a post later on this evening.
