The rumor is true as Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler is indeed leaving to become the head coach at UTEP, but a source informed this morning that his plans are to finish out the season in Pittsburgh and has told his players as such.
Footballscoop.com reported late Friday that Kugler will be the next head coach of UTEP after Pete Roussel, the Founder/CEO of Coaching Search Consulting Inc., reported that Kugler had interviewed for the open head coaching job at his Alma Mater and was the frontrunner for the job.
Good news, bad news. The good news being that he will indeed finish out the season, the bad news being the Steelers will miss him. There has been no confirmation from either the University or the Steelers, but the source assured me that the news is indeed true.
I wonder if Russ Grimm will be free in a few more weeks.
