Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com reported on Thursday that Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware and running back DeMarco Murray have both been fined for infractions during their 27-24 overtime win this past Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ware was fined $15,750 for his fourth quarter blow to the head of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. On the play Ware came off the edge and struck the Steelers quarterback in the back of helmet with his right arm. Roethlisberger dropped to the ground following the hit but did stay in the game.
Murray was fined $7,875 for grabbing and holding the face mask of Steelers linebacker Larry Foote during a first quarter run. The run was good for 8 yards and Murray was not flagged on the play.
Archer also reports that Cowboys guard Nate Livings was not fined for an illegal use of hands penalty in the fourth quarter.
The Steelers did not officially register any penalties in the game even though safety Troy Polamalu was flagged for defensive holding late in the first quarter. That penalty, however, did not go in the books as it was offset by a holding call on Cowboys center Ryan Cook.
