Word out of Nashville tonight is that Will Allen will start at strong safety instead of Ryan Mundy when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Tennessee Titans.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hinted on Monday during his press conference that Allen could get some playing time this week with Troy Polamalu sidelined with a calf injury. Defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau said on Tuesday that he considered Allen and Mundy the same player.
Mundy has struggled in his playing time this season and has allowed 3 of the 8 passing touchdowns against the Steelers this season. Allen last stared a game in 2009 when he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
