The Thursday injury report is still a few hours away from being released, but the early word from several in the Pittsburgh media via Twitter is that both safety Troy Polamalu (calf) and linebacker James Harrison (knee) will not practice today.
The news is not surprising as Harrison has yet to practice fully dating back to the first week of OTA\’s and Polamalu has not practiced since the season opener in Denver. With the bye week following the Sunday game against the Oakland Raiders, you can likely expect that head coach Mike Tomlin will rule both players out for Sunday on the Friday injury report.
Harrison is now more than a month removed from his knee procedure that he had following his removal from the PUP list and another two weeks off hopefully will have him ready to make his season debut when the Steelers host the Philadelphia Eagles in week 5.
With both players likely to be sidelined in Oakland, we will likely see both Jason Worilds and Chris Carter spilt time at the right outside linebacker spot once again and Ryan Mundy start at strong safety.
We will have the full practice participation report from Thursday up for you as soon as it is released.
