Steelers Pregame Injury Report Versus Panthers

The Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Carolina Panthers Thursday night in their fourth and final preseason game of the 2012 season and below is a pregame look at the Steelers injury report heading into the game.

OUT:

OLB James Harrison (knee) – Harrison was removed from the PUP list earlier this week and cant begin practicing until Monday due to the new acclimation period in the CBA. Next week is a huge week for him and hopefully his left knee does not swell once he starts back working.

OLB Jason Worilds (wrist) – Like Harrison, Worilds was removed from the PUP list and can\’t practice until Monday.

RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) – Mendenhall is still working his way back from ACL surgery and will sit out once again.

DE Brett Keisel (ankle) – Keisel suffered a mild high ankle sprain last Saturday night and is not expected to dress Thursday night.

RB Isaac Redman (ankle) – Redman is dealing with an ankle injury suffered last Saturday night and will not play in the preseason finale.

ILB Stevenson Sylvester (knee) – Sylvester is still not ready to play after tearing his medial collatiral ligament during the final days at Latrobe.

G David DeCastro (knee) – DeCastro had surgery Wednesday on his injured right knee and will be sidelined indefinitely.

QUESTIONABLE:

NT Casey Hampton (knee/elbow)Mike Tomlin said this past week that there is a chance that Hampton could see some snaps Thursday night after having a good week of practice as he looks to return from ACL surgery and a minor elbow procedure.

OLB LaMarr Woodley (back) – Woodley missed time this week with a minor back problem so he very well could sit out Thursday night as a precaution.

WR Jerricho Cotchery (back) – Cotchery was not ruled out for the game, but being as he missed time with a back problem, he is unlikely to see action.

P Jeremy Kapinos (back) – Tomlin did not give any specific updates on Kapinos this past week, so odds are that he will not punt Thursday night. He has missed the entire preseason and all of training camp with a back injury that required surgery.
